How time flies.....

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is only a week and a half away....and then Christmas. For me the next three weeks are going to be super busy, as it is time for the year end reviews for the team that I supervise. For those of you that know me (and I am sure anyone that supervises / manages), I hate doing these reviews. The thankful part of this, is that this is the last time I have to do them. Why? Because this team is being transitioned to a new manager and the main part of my job (Education / Training) will be transitioning as well to focus more on what I love to do....Educate and Train! I never had an interest in supervising before, but somehow ended up doing it. I can honestly say that I have done it and know that I don't have any interest in doing it again. Let's just say, I can't wait until Dec. 5th...the reviews and year end meeting will be over.

Another reason I am excited for Dec. 5th is because I am going to Rochester for a girls weekend / Christmas shopping with Christy & Lora. Sydney is going to Austin to my mom's and Kathy's (Christy & Lora's mom). I really can't wait!

This past weekend, Christy and I went to Camp Shamineau for our annual Fall Scrapbooking weekend. We did our normal stops at Micheal's and Albertville....both were successful. Then it was on to Shamineau. I was pleased with the amount of pages that I got done (26) and where I am at in my book and in Sydney's book. I have completed Sydney's first year book! And I have completed all of 2005 in my book. I almost liked that I was behind in Sydney's book, because I was able to take all the pictures from 2006 and clump a bunch of them together into certain pages, rather do them all chronological , which is what I am used to doing in all my books. I have started Sydney's 2007 book, but I am thinking about doing the same for that year as I did for 2006....the book goes by so much faster when I do that. Plus, if anyone is like me (which I know most are), you have a million random pictures of your kid(s) and you think they are all great...but how in the world would you scrapbook all of them? We had a great time (as usual), we had great table mates and great roommates. The sleep for the weekend was minimal, but I got a lot of pages done....and that was my goal! I don't have any scrapbooking plans until after the first of the year. I hope to do a ABC album for Sydney, as she really enjoys looking at the album at my mom's. We looked at her album last night, but she quickly lost interest as it was a lot of pages...for her little is better.

Speaking of Sydney....her and Jim spent the weekend together. As he said, "she is hitting the terrible 2's when she is almost 3"....honey, that is why they call that the "horrible 3's". Despite that it does sound like they had a great weekend, that had it's moments. :) I do have to say, I wish she would have been a perfect angel for him all weekend, but I am really glad that she wasn't so that he got to see what my weekends are like when he isn't there. :)

Speaking about Jim.....he went hunting a couple weekends ago and got a deer....a big doe. Unfortunately, that was the only deer they got all weekend. There are still a few other weekends for bow and muzzle loader hunting...we are hoping one of them gets another deer. But way to go honey!!!

And about the potty training....good greif, she knows when she has to go, knows when she is wet and hates being wet....but do you think she will go on the potty??? NO! She is adamant about not going on the potty chair! Daycare (Connie) has tried every trick she knows....every 1/2 hours she will put Sydney on the potty chair, regardless if she has to go or not....Sydney hates it...She will sit there for a while and when she gets off, not 2 minutes later, she is wet. When she does that, she gets a time out. UGH! She totally gets it....but I have no idea what her deal is. We have told her that when she starts using the potty chair we will get her a fish...she is super excited about it, but when you ask if she wants to use the potty, the answer is a definite NO! So this coming weekend, we don't have anything going....so, that means she doesn't get to wear diapers at all (except for naps and bedtime) and if she has to go potty, then she will either have to go in the potty or pee her pants (I am hoping this doesn't happen much, if at all....I know that is a big wish)....I refuse to put a diaper on! We'll see how that goes.....

That is all for us...no new pictures though. I'm sure I have a few on my camera, but nothing of real significance.

Trick or Treat!

Sydney had so much fun this year! She was the cutest giraffe!! They had a Halloween Party at daycare, so she got to take her costume with her. They paraded around the neighborhood, pinned the nose on the pumpkin, played pumpkin, pumpkin, ghost and bobbed for marshmellows....wish I could have seen that. She had so much fun! Thankfully, Halloween was on a Friday, because we had a lot places to go to....we went around our new neighborhood....she had a blast (and we got to meet our neighbors)! It didn't take her long to figure out when you say "trick or treat", she would get candy. After our neighborhood, we headed to our old daycare's house (Georgie)....it was great seeing her...then on to our old neighborhood, saw some old friends and our old house. They have already done a ton of great stuff (the luck of having a month after closing to do all this stuff before moving in), they were gracious enough to invite us in to show us all the things done. On to Uncle Terry's and last stop was at Grandpa and Grandma Jagow's. In all, she had a ton of fun....and love's chocolate. She is definitely my kid! haha!

Daddy was a "Hockey fan" and Sydney...check out her hand, she got into the candy even before we left.

I love the tail....

New to us!

On Wednesday night, we bought our first new piece of furniture for the new house....a china cabinet, or since I don't have any china, I'll just call it a hutch. :) I had been watching Craigslist for a few weeks and when I saw this one, it caught my attention...all the other pieces were from the 70's...not my style. We went, checked it out and bought it. I can't wait to fill it with all the pieces that have been sitting in boxes since we got married 4 years ago. :)

Now we need to find a round dining room table....

Park & Random

We spent the 2nd weekend of October down at Lora's....we had a great time despite a trip to the urgent care, due to Sydney getting over heated on the trip down....at least that is what I am saying was what was wrong, because the rest of the weekend she was her normal, 2 yer old self. :) We ended the weekend with a quick trip to the park...we all had a great time.

Who's in the tunnel.....oh yeah, it's Auntie Lorla and Sydney

These are some random pictures of Sydney taken the last couple of weeks....and a few random sayings by Sydney.....
Hallalula = Halleluiah
Speedy Gonglasses = Speedy Gonzales
Chipmunks = Rice chex that she had to eat at grandma's on Sunday

This was right after a nap....her hair was crazy! :)

I can't believe how grown up she looks and is getting. I found her and Hobbes playing on her new rug and thought they looked so cute.

Fun with leaves

We spent our first full weekend at home, this past weekend! It was great! Although Sydney was getting over her virus, thankfully we were on the tail end of it and by Saturday night things were looking good. We had Erin and Caitlin stay with us on Friday night (dad is out hunting with Jim in SD). We enjoyed dinner at Old Chicago and rented a couple of movies. After a few techinal difficulties hooking up the DVD player we were finally able to watch the movie....well, Erin was. Caitlin and I were both asleep 15 mins into the movie....guess I will be rewatching that one. :) We took the girls dress shopping on Saturday (which by the way, I have decided I hate ((yes, I said hate)) shopping with a 2 1/2 year old. (I would love to go shopping with some girlfriends and actually get to try on clothes or just look at stuff without a whining kid in the stroller.....if anyone is interested, let me know. :)) The girls were both successful in finding dresses and shoes....they look so good...so grown up (wish I had gotten a picture). We dropped the girls off at their mom's on Saturday night and then it was just Sydney and me. On Sunday our only plan for the day was to go to Target and hang out at home....just what we both needed. After our trip to Target (which was completed without any whining...by either of us...haha!), we spent some time outside in our lovely, big backyard. I met one of our neighbors (I had met the wife at the neighborhood picnic). We had a nice chat....I love meeting our new neighbors...have I said lately that I love my new house...because I do. Okay, back to the fun in the backyard.....Sydney had a ball playing in the Bo's kennel, running around and playing in the leaves. Although I hate shopping with her, she really is a great kid. She has the funniest sense of humor and can be so sweet at times (I love it when she rubs her hands on my cheeks). I dug out my good 35m camera and shot an entire roll of film of her playing outside....below are some of my favorites.

Should I blog about this...just yet??

What the heck, why not! Tonight, Sydney wore (wanted t0) big girl panties after her bath! The last couple of days she has had a little virus running through her body, causing some dirty diapers and some oh so sore diaper rash. Last night, before bed I had the diaper off and let her run around for a while, she all of a sudden had to go potty, so she quickly got on the toilet and she pooped! Sweet....she refuses to go potty, but has this little virus helped us move her along in into the next step of potty training? Oh, how I hope so! It was like she knew when she had to go and what she needed to do. (I knew she understood it...) Tonight after her bath she didn't want to wear her diaper, so I let her run around for a while without one....then she wanted to wear big girl panties. She wore them for about a half hour (Jim thought I was going to let her wear them to bed...haha...NO!) and then it was time for bed! We are home this weekend, so I think we will be working on potty training. I have been dreaming about not having to buy diapers for so long, will this dream finally become a reality? I hope now that I have blogged about, that I haven't jinxed myself....

Stay tuned.....

New posts

I am in the process of adding new posts from things that have been going on since July. Scroll down to see some of the new ones or click on the new ones on the menu. I still have a few left to do....but I am getting there. I was WAY behind...obviously everyone knew that. :)
